Something had to be done.

The time had come. The time was now.

Nick's hair had reached a point that was no longer manageable. I had to do something. Before someone mistook him for a girl. Before Andy flew home to intervene. This is what his sisters did to him last night -

Yes Honey, this is your son! :)

So, I have now conquered one of my greatest fears. Using the clippers to cut his hair.
It's not that I'm afraid of the clippers - just what sort of craziness I could do with them.

Here is what the back of his hair looked like before the cut:
And here is what his hair looks like now:

Please keep in mind that I have never used clippers before. And I had absolutely no idea what I was doing - and no one here to help me - or save me when I made a mistake.

It was really hard starting out with it as long as it was. I think I would have had a much easier time if it were already done professionally and I had just "maintained" it. This was definitely not the case this time. It's far from perfect, but it will do. I will chalk it up to a learning experience. It's cold out anyway - I'll make him wear a hat for the next few weeks :)

You did way better than I would have done. Matter of fact, I usually just have my husband shave off my sons hair. Way easier! :) You did good! He is very handsome.

It looks perfectly fine. No one would guess you did it or that it was the first time. Good job!

I think it looks great!

And make sure you safe that first picture (with the hair done up) for the time he brings his first date home. After all you have to have something to show off. ;)

Yes, I know, I'm a mean Mom.
