We celebrated our 10 year anniversary the other day. You would think on such a momentous occasion, we'd take a second honeymoon to Hawaii or at the very least eat dinner at a ritzy restaurant and get all dressed up. Instead, we stayed home with all of the munchkins and ate Papa Murphy's pizza and watched movies :) It was a nice evening.
On Saturday, we dropped off the older 4 at respite care on post and headed out for a day on the town.
It's so funny to think that when we only had one baby, things seemed to difficult (ie. going out to dinner or running errands). Being out and about with only Tori seems SO easy now. She just stays in the car seat and once in a while needs to be fed or changed. How easy!! What a different perspective :)
So, we went out to lunch at a nice Italian restaurant. Then we headed to a couple of bookstores and took our time looking through the shelves and even ordered coffee!! (ok, so I got a DECAF mocha, but it was good). Then Andy wanted to check out a furrier. Yes, I said a furrier. For those of you who have never been to one, it is a store full of animal furs. I am no PETA activist or anything, but I really didn't like seeing beautiful animal furs hanging on metal hooks from their eye holes. (Sorry for being so graphic!). We didn't buy anything, but Andy would love to have a big bearskin rug in his den someday :)
All in all, we had a great day. It was nice to spend some time together with uninterrupted conversation. The kids had a good time at respite care. The older two got to play in the computer lab and gym. Nick got to finger paint and Lexie played with one of her best friends. Everyone had a good day.
The flowers above were from Andy's parents. Thank you!! They were remarkably unscathed after a night on the front porch. We didn't notice them sitting at the doorstep when we got home and we didn't find them until the next day!!
